Thought for Mother's Day
We all tend to think of our mother today. Those of us who have lost them to death know that special feeling of loss and live with our cherished memories but not all mother's have a happy mother's day. Some think of a lost child or husband and still others of a child in trouble. I received a phone call from one such mother tonight but sadly I lack the wisdom to solve her problem.
I could only advise her to turn it over to God in prayer. I trust that she will not mind me sharing this poem that I wrote for them with the world wide web for if another mother reads this and simply says God bless them then her reward will be great in heaven.
A mere man like myself cannot imagine what the pain must be like to be seperated from the child you carried in your womb but God knows and I believe He honors mother's and their prayers.
A Mother’s Prayer
A mother cried to heaven,
That her child’s sin be forgiven,
And that a mother’s prayer,
Be heard and answered there.
God send your angel tonight,
To lead my angel back to the light,
That I again may hear,
Mum I love it here.
My home lord I do pray,
Make it sunny on that day,
Like the prodigal son,
She again doth return.
May my arms open wide,
Convey the love I feel inside,
And may my prayer,
Be carried there.
That she may know,
It tears my heart open so,
To simply be apart,
From the gentle beating of her heart.
I am a mother here below,
The one you did the gift bestow,
To always remember with pride,
The months I carried her inside.
So God I do confess,
It may be a small matter in this great universe,
But amid my prayer and tears,
No greater joy would end my fear.
Than for you to restore again,
My child, my love, my best friend,
And then to her I may say,
Thank God for this glorious day.
