Tragedy

Tragedy seems to be the only word that fits the loss of life at Virginia Tech. So many lives filled with promise lost on the same day. At times like this our hearts and our prayers go out for the souls of those lost and to the grieving families left behind. Loved ones loved no more, left with only memories of a life shared for oh so short a time.

The feeling of loss for brothers, sisters, mothers, daughters, fathers and sons. Nephews and nieces never to be seen again their laughter and their joy stolen forever by a demented soul filled with venom and hatred. Pictures of those slain appear on TV and on the web. People think how sad and share a moment of grieve and then go on with their lives grateful that none of their friends children or family members were involved in the tragedy.

Yet another tragedy appeared in the papers the same day. Larger with more innocent people killed but no one tried to get a picture of those children. Few if any in America shared a moment of grief with those families. No churches held special prayers for them. Still they were the same. Victims of men with demented souls filled with venom and hatred. Murdered and stolen from their grieving families. Brothers, sons, daughters, fathers, wives, nephews and nieces all robbed of their future. Family and friends morn them too in a language we do not understand but the pain and the loss is exactly the same.

Tragedy can come at any time to life on this planet through natural disasters and accidents but only man seeks to inflict death, pain and suffering on his own kind. No matter what anyone may think or say it is not right to steal the life of another and to inflict the emotional pain and suffering on families. It is the ultimate crime against humanity.

Humanity. Human beings created by God. I know God for He is an important part of my life. I believe in Him and what He has taught and showed me and no matter what anyone says atheist or otherwise, anyone who willfully robs a family of the gift of life is damned by Almighty God.

Karma

It is a word selected from a foreign land,
By a beautiful lady with an empty hand,
Yet in her mind still she sees,
An evening sunset across an ocean breeze.

And on a distant shore her thought it reaches me,
And for a little while I stop,
Thinking of her idle thoughts,
And as I smile with ease knowing she thought not of me.

Yet in this universe untold,
Magic things they do unfold,
And like fairy stories told of old,
A knight is reminded.

And as I turn to leave a gentle breeze it touches me,
I stop and turn around and there I see upon the ground,
A blossom from a distant magnolia tree,
And wonder how far it took the wind to bring it to me?

Idle Thoughts

Between sunset and sunrise,
Wisdom and discernment enter my room in perfect harmony,
It is then I share my idle thought with the universe,
Out there across the eternal sea of this universe,
He waits till my thought and prayer touch his soul.

And only then he begins the search,
The search across that boundless sea,
Where in spiritual harmony he finds my message,
And knows what only he who is my soul mate could ever know,
That love, true love alone is the key to my heart.
